Ok, so I know the basic idea of Christmas is that you give gifts to other people, but I’m afraid I’ve started off the festive season with a present to myself, a new guitar! The exciting thing about my new toy is that it’s a type of guitar that I’ve never played before but have always really loved the sound of, a baritone acoustic guitar. You are forgiven for not knowing about this particular guitar, my knowledge of it was virtually non-existent until recently, but I’ve always loved the sound. It’s basically a slighter bigger version of a normal acoustic (far left in the picture), but it’s tuned lower, so you get a gorgeous low, rich sound – a very inspiring timbre for writing new songs. Ok, so I’ve put my new present down now (very reluctantly), and I’m off to buy gifts for others! Have a great holiday, we look forward to meeting you in 2013.
